Mahesh Ramanayaka, General Manager | L'azure Resort and Spa Phu Quoc
My hospitality career began immediately after graduating from the college in beautiful paradise Sri Lanka. As a fresh starter I joined a 5-star hotel in Colombo to learn basics and my real career really kick started after joining HILTON Colombo. From that time onwards worked in star class hotels and resorts in different parts of the world.
Received the best training and groomed to be a pro in the F&B services. Basically, I was fortunate to get experienced in banqueting, restaurant, bars and Executive Floor Lounges from an International Brand.
Thereafter, I had the eagerness to travel and work overseas. And my first overseas assignment was in Dubai. While in UAE I found an opportunity to work a short stint in Philippines as well and then moved again to UAE. That was another turning point in my career after joining Le Meridien Dubai under Starwood International. During that period, I won the prestigious 2012 - PRESIDENT’S AWARD - STARWOOD HOTELS (EUROPE, AFRICA & MIDDLE EAST region) for Le Meridien, Dubai. Award was presented by Mr. Guido de Wilde CEO/COO Marriott International ME.
I felt I needed a break from hotels and wanted to travel. With that intention I got an opportunity join award winning National Airline of U.AE, ETHIHAD AIRWAYS as onboard Food and Beverage Manager for 3 years. That really helped me to see the world and was lucky to travel 60 over countries. However, again my previous Manager requested me to join Le Meridien Dubai again.
After finding my longtime friend and buddy who was working in Vietnam, made a visit to Vietnam on a holiday. I fell in love with Vietnam … loved the nature … very much similar to Sri Lanka. Then decided to move to Vietnam in 2017 and now 5 years in Vietnam. For the past 3 years I am working in Phu Quoc, one year each was in Nha Trang and Da Nang.
During decades of my career in Hospitality industry with Hotels and Airlines I have enjoyed my life and also experienced all kinds of scenarios that many may have not faced. My passion is still with hospitality industry and have the energy to carry on …. And stay longer in Vietnam.

Ha Vu Thien, CEO and Managing Director | Senna Wellness Retreat
My name is Vu Thien Ha, but most people would call me by nickname - Chip since I love that friends, peers and co-workers have the feeling that we are close together and would be able to share anything that comes along. Since I was a child, I always hoped to contribute either big or small to my beloved country and its travel industry, and understood on a lot of levels that with compassion and empathy, we as human beings can really positively grow and achieve anything on one's life path. Years later, when I pursued Social Entrepreneurship & Business in Florida, then my master in New York University, I became more aware about the world issues as well as some problems that are happening in Vietnam: Education and Health & Wellness. Hence, Senna Wellness Retreat is everything that I have summed up over the years, and promise that each guest who comes in a short period of time or longer time to Senna will have the feeling of understanding, caring, and love. Next to it, guests are open to wellness activities that help them nourish their body, rest their mind, and empower their soul. For this event, and to be able to sit with hospitality leaders, I am very honored and hope to be able to share some of my thoughts about wellness topics.
